Busy Days

Well, last week Lorraine and Cooper were on their own after many weeks of help. We had our 1 month baby check up, and Cooper's gaining weight steadily after losing a lot at the beginning, and he also grew an inch. He's been eating like a champ, and has also been spitting up quite frequently (hence the many bibs now present in pictures).

Here are a few shots from how we spent our days:

Chatting with Mr. Cooper

So, we finally broke out the video camera, and shot some video of Cooper this afternoon... Lots of footage of him just looking around, but also about 20-30 seconds of some really cute video - including a full-on belly laugh (we don't care that it was probably just gas -- let us think that our kid is absolutely adorable).

The "Grandma K" Series

So, over the last week, Cooper has had lots of time to bond with Grandma K... These are taken from one of their many heart-to-heart bonding sessions... Enjoy!

Hmm, I wonder who's going to win the football playoff games this weekend...

Hey, Grandma, why did you change the channel?

Please put back the Game Show Network - I'm tired of all this HGTV

Ahh, Wheel of Fortune, much better...

Can you believe she asked for a "Q"?

Grandma, I'm getting tired...

You've just about worn me out...

That's it, I'm done...

Cooper, looks like you're not the only one worn out -- you wore Grandma out, too!

The Many Faces of Cooper

Sorry for the delay since the last post... With Alex going back to work, there's been less picture taking going on... But, we have learned that Grandpa K loves to snap pictures (a bit more than he likes to change diapers!!)... So, here are a few from the last week - we like to call these "The Many Faces of Cooper"

Is that a smile (or did I just do something in my pants?)

That's definitely a smile (and something in my pants!)

Plotting world domination from the bouncy seat...

How can you not love me in the kangaroo booties?

Look at how strong my neck is...

Okay, so this will NOT be my Hollywood head shot...

Look at this little angel...

The Nursery from "Down Under"

In Alex's trips to Australia last year, he brought home lots of Aussie-themed items for the nursery -- posters, signs, boomerangs, stuffed animals (and lots more) -- and to make the theme complete, we were actually able to find bedding called "Down Under". Here are a few pictures of Cooper's bedroom:

The crib, with Down Under bedding and quilt

Furniture - complete with Aussie (and Cookie Monster) stuffed animals

Koala and Kangaroo Family posters

Australian road signs (with the Australian "Cooper" license plate)

Who Needs Sleep?

Well, we've been "on our own" for a few days now, and we seem to be managing okay... Cooper is a great eater, and a pretty good sleeper -- the only problem is that he doesn't really like to go to sleep (he must not want to miss anything)... Which would be fine, except his favorite hours to be awake seem to be between 12 and 2am.

The weather in DC has been beautiful, and so we've made sure to take advantage -- errands yesterday (we even managed lunch in a sit-down restaurant), and a long walk today... One thing we've noticed is that once Cooper is in the car (or the stroller), he nods off pretty quickly -- maybe we should think about 1am car rides :)

Since Grandma and Grandpa G went back to FL, we've not taken as many pictures (sorry), but here are a few from the past couple of days:

You're going to wake me for a bath??

Mmm... I love Daddy's nose!

In the car seat? Must be time for a nap.

On our own

Well, after two great weeks, Grandma and Grandpa G. have left for Florida, while Grandma and Grandpa K. are stuck up in NY for at least a few more days. So it's just the 3 of us for the first time - EEK!!!

In any event, Cooper is continuing to put on weight, but still has trouble with the day/night concept. We're sure he'll figure things out soon enough!

Here are some more pictures from the past few days.

Happy New Year!!!

Well, it's been almost 2 weeks since Cooper's arrival, and we're still in a sleep-deprived mode. But Cooper is thriving, and he's been a very cooperative subject for our many pictures. Here are a few more pictures from his last week.
